The world No. 20-ranked Togami, a right-handed shakehand attacker from Japan, arrives with solid but inconsistent form—reaching the round of 16 versus Jang Woojin at WTT Champions Doha in January before falling to Tomislav Pucar in Chongqing—while unranked local wildcard Mak leverages home-crowd fervor and venue acclimation in Macao. Absent head-to-head history, the matchup balances Togami's superior ITTF ranking and experience against Mak's motivation; pre-match warm-ups, minor fitness updates, or draw implications from group standings could prompt odds shifts.
