Coton overwhelmed Yoshimura after earlier dispatching Andrej Gacina 3-0 in the quarterfinals, showcasing explosive forehand attacks and unerring consistency against the Japanese qualifier's resilient defense following his 3-2 upset of Vladimir Sidorenko. Yoshimura's strong run through qualifiers and early rounds highlighted his backhand loops, but Coton's superior speed and power proved decisive. With the outcome confirmed via WTT scoring, only an extraordinary appeal or administrative reversal—such as a disqualification protest—could alter resolution, though such cases are exceedingly rare in table tennis.
