St. Louis Cardinals enter their NL Central vs. NL East series opener at Nationals Park on April 6 with momentum from a 4-2 start, including a recent 5-1 road win over Washington and victories against the Mets and Marlins, boosting trader consensus on their early-season form. Probable starters Andre Pallante (STL) and Zack Littell (WSH) face off in a matchup favoring the Cardinals' bullpen depth amid both teams' pitching injuries—Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar on the 60-day IL with heel surgery, Nationals missing Josiah Gray (flexor) and Trevor Williams (elbow). Nationals (3-3) seek home-field uplift after splitting recent games, but Cardinals hold historical head-to-head edge. Weather and late lineup tweaks remain key variables.
