Delhi Capitals host Mumbai Indians in IPL Match 8 at batting-friendly Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 4, where short boundaries and true bounce typically favor high-scoring T20 contests averaging 168 in first innings. DC, captained by Axar Patel, enter with home advantage but face challenges from Mitchell Starc's confirmed absence due to shoulder and elbow injury, relying instead on spin duo Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav for middle-overs control alongside pacers like Dushmantha Chameera and T Natarajan; their top order features KL Rahul and David Miller for stability. MI, led by Hardik Pandya, hold a historical edge with 21-16 head-to-head wins, boasting elite pace attack of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Deepak Chahar to target DC's inconsistent home record (38.86% win rate). Toss could prove pivotal amid potential dew, with both sides yet to play IPL 2026 openers—DC faces LSG on April 1—heightening uncertainty in early-season form.
