In the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters qualifying first round on clay, No. 70 Vit Kopriva holds an edge over No. 107 Matteo Arnaldi, buoyed by stronger recent form including a straight-sets win over Hamad Medjedovic in the Marrakech ATP 250 last week, extending his YTD clay record to 5-3. Arnaldi, meanwhile, enters off an opening-round loss to Alex Molcan in Bucharest and a 0-3 ATP slate this year, reflecting struggles on the surface despite his career-high No. 30 peak. No head-to-head history exists; the best-of-three set matchup on Court Rainier III favors Kopriva's clay adaptation, though Arnaldi's baseline game could test in tight sets amid variable Monte Carlo conditions.
