Top-seeded defending champion Jessica Pegula meets seventh seed Diana Shnaider in the Credit One Charleston Open quarterfinals on familiar green clay, where Pegula claimed her first title here last year. Pegula holds a perfect 2-0 head-to-head edge, including straight-set wins at the 2024 Toronto semifinals and US Open round of 16, both on hard courts—this marks their clay debut matchup. Shnaider carries strong momentum from yesterday's dominant 6-3, 6-0 rout of Leylah Fernandez in the round of 16, extending her impressive 2026 form. Pegula, fully recovered from a February left knee injury that sidelined her in Austin, has voiced growing clay confidence in recent interviews, while Shnaider's baseline power tests the American's defensive consistency and surface affinity amid potential weather variables.
