Hailey Baptiste enters the Credit One Charleston Open Round of 32 as the No. 33 seed and heavy trader favorite on green clay, buoyed by a breakout Miami quarterfinal run last week where she upset Elina Svitolina and Jelena Ostapenko before falling to Aryna Sabalenka. Renata Zarazua, ranked No. 85, counters with a lopsided 3-1 head-to-head edge—including a three-set Hobart win this year—and a stunning 6-2, 6-0 first-round rout of Sloane Stephens. Baptiste boasts a superior 13-8 clay record over the past year with strong hold percentages, while Zarazua's tour-level clay form remains inconsistent; no injuries reported, but the baseline grind on outdoor clay could test Baptiste's transition from hard courts.
