This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The recent firing of Rob Thomson after the Phillies' dismal 9-19 start has kept the manager search wide open, with Alex Cora holding a narrow edge in trader consensus due to his proven track record and reported interest from Philadelphia. Multiple candidates with extensive MLB experience, including former skippers and current bench coaches, remain tightly grouped because the front office has signaled a broad evaluation of internal and external options without committing to a permanent hire until season's end. Don Mattingly's interim role adds another layer, as his performance could influence the timeline while the competitive field reflects uncertainty over long-term fit, roster dynamics, and front-office preferences for stability heading into 2027.
