Sri Lanka holds a 58% implied probability as trader consensus reflects their superior head-to-head ODI record, winning 12 of 19 encounters including a 2-1 series victory over Afghanistan in 2024 with high-scoring thrillers like their 381/3 in the opener. Both sides field near-full-strength squads—Afghanistan led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi, while Sri Lanka boasts batting depth from Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka—on spin-friendly Dubai pitches suiting their mutual strengths. Recent postponement of the March UAE series due to regional conflict to late 2026 underscores a competitive matchup, bolstered by Sri Lanka's recent form including a win over England in January.
