Both Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars enter this PSL T20 clash unbeaten after dominant opening wins, with Qalandars topping the points table on superior net run rate (+3.45) following a 69-run thrashing of Hyderabad Kingsmen, while Sultans sit second (+0.825) after their victory. Qalandars face challenges from key absences: all-rounder Hussain Talat (shoulder dislocation, out 12-14 weeks) and pacer Zaman Khan (AC joint injury, likely sidelined for PSL), prompting replacement picks that could disrupt balance. Sultans boast firepower with overseas recruits Steve Smith opening, captain Ashton Turner, wicketkeeper Josh Philippe, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, and seamer Peter Siddle, strengthening batting depth and bowling variety. Head-to-head records remain competitive (Multan slight edge at 11-10), and Gaddafi Stadium's batting-friendly pitch favors high-scoring innings, making toss crucial for setting or chasing big totals amid clear weather.
