**Stefanos Tsitsipas, a three-time Rolex Monte Carlo Masters champion, meets clay specialist Francisco Cerundolo (ATP No. 20) in a competitive first-round clash on the slow, high-bouncing Monte Carlo clay courts where Tsitsipas trains year-round.** Cerundolo arrives in strong clay form after capturing the 2026 Buenos Aires title and posting an 83-52 ATP career record on the surface (61.5% win rate), while Tsitsipas holds a 2-0 head-to-head edge from indoor hard-court encounters—their first clay matchup. Recent draw reveals a tough path for the unseeded Greek, but no injury reports or withdrawals affect either; mild weather favors baseline rallies, underscoring trader consensus on a closely contested affair with upset potential.
