Baez boasts superior clay-court pedigree, including a 2026 semifinal run at Buenos Aires and a career 61% win rate on the surface, with a 14-7 year-to-date record. Droguet earned his spot via an impressive upset of veteran Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 in the opener, building momentum from a Montpellier semifinal, though his lower ranking and limited top-level clay success temper expectations. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving room for Droguet's aggressive baseline game to test Baez's consistency.
