Van Assche, ranked No. 109, notched his first ATP win of the season yesterday with a straight-sets defeat of Hugo Gaston but enters with a 23-40 career record and recent hard-court struggles. No head-to-head exists; Griekspoor's size advantage (6'2", 187 lbs vs. 5'10", 158 lbs) and baseline power suit clay, though rust from his six-week layoff tempers enthusiasm in this closely contested matchup.
