Romuald Wadagni's commanding 97.5% trader consensus stems from Benin's Constitutional Court officially confirming his landslide victory—over 94% of votes—in the April 12 presidential election on April 23, following provisional tallies by the electoral commission. As outgoing President Patrice Talon's finance minister and ruling coalition nominee, Wadagni benefited from strong incumbency continuity, limited opposition with Paul Hounkpè's early concession, and no reported disputes or appeals. International leaders, including from China and France, have extended congratulations. While final inauguration remains pending, realistic challenges like unforeseen legal reversals or institutional holds appear improbable given the institutional validation and national consensus.
