Luis Arraez holds the top spot in the MLB batting average race at .313 through mid-September, driven by his elite contact skills, low strikeout rate near 4%, and steady production across 142 games with the Phillies. Traders price him as the clear favorite at 52.5% implied probability due to his proven track record as a high-average hitter and slim margin over Yordan Alvarez (.310) and Otto Lopez (.309). Alvarez benefits from strong overall offensive metrics including a 1.016 OPS but trails slightly in pure average, while Lopez has posted recent hot streaks. With roughly three weeks remaining, small daily fluctuations in at-bats and hits will determine the final outcome among these qualified leaders.
