Jayden Daniels has thrown just three passing touchdowns through three games in 2026 after missing Weeks 3-4 with a dislocated left (non-throwing) elbow, an injury he also suffered late in 2025 that limited him to seven appearances and eight total passing scores that year. He returned in Week 5 wearing a protective brace, completing 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards with no touchdowns while adding two rushing scores, but medical reports highlight elevated re-injury risk that could sideline him again. The Commanders’ new offensive coordinator David Blough has emphasized more under-center work and run emphasis, while the supporting cast features aging wideouts Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs alongside added tight end Chig Okonkwo. An upcoming schedule featuring a Week 6 road matchup at San Francisco and a Week 7 bye adds further uncertainty to volume and scoring opportunities.
