Incumbent Republican Gus Bilirakis seeks an 11th term in Florida’s 12th congressional district following the April 2026 adoption of a new map that preserves its strong Republican tilt, with a partisan voting index favoring the GOP by roughly seven points. Nonpartisan analysts rate the seat Solid or Likely Republican. Bilirakis holds a substantial fundraising edge and faces only nominal primary opposition ahead of the August 18 primaries, while Democratic contenders Christopher Irizarry and Kimberly Overman remain early in their campaigns. Trader consensus reflects the district’s consistent Republican performance in recent cycles and the absence of competitive developments that would alter the outlook before the November general election.
