Defending champion and world No. 3 Alexander Zverev holds strong trader consensus favoritism into his BMW Open round-of-16 matchup against No. 37 Gabriel Diallo on Munich's clay courts, bolstered by a gritty first-round survival over Miomir Kecmanovic (6-3, 3-6, 7-6(2)) after a Monte Carlo semifinal run that signals sharp clay form. Diallo cruised past qualifier Vitaliy Sachko 6-1, 6-2 but enters with a 0-1 head-to-head deficit from their Australian Open clash, limited recent clay success (early Monte Carlo exit), and less experience against top seeds. Zverev's home-crowd edge, baseline prowess, and surface history outweigh Diallo's big serving in this best-of-three affair, though upsets loom on variable clay conditions.
