Victor Wembanyama's commanding lead in blocks per game at 3.1 through 59 appearances has solidified trader consensus at 99.2% implied probability for the San Antonio Spurs center to claim the 2025-26 NBA blocks leader title, outpacing challengers like Chet Holmgren and Jay Huff by a wide margin in both per-game average and total blocks (184). His recent dominance—17 blocks over the last three games, including multiple six-block outings—stems from elite length, rim protection, and consistent minutes amid the Spurs' push for playoff positioning, positioning him as a top Defensive Player of the Year contender. Scenarios to upend this include a Wembanyama injury or rest in the season's final weeks, paired with an improbable hot streak from Holmgren (limited by Thunder's depth) or Huff's volume-dependent output.
