This market will resolve according to the player that finishes the 2025–26 NBA regular season with the highest steals per-game average of any qualified player. In the event of a tie for the highest steals per-game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. Qualification for inclusion in official NBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to NBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard. The resolution source will be the NBA (NBA.com/stats).Ausar Thompson's commanding position as the implied leader in the NBA steals per game market stems from his league-leading 2.0 SPG average through 72 games in the 2025-26 regular season for the Detroit Pistons, clinched after the April 12 conclusion. Official NBA stats list him atop the leaderboard, edging tied challengers like Dyson Daniels (2.0 SPG in 76 games) via tiebreaker conventions such as total steals or games played qualifiers. Thompson's elite perimeter defense shone recently, topping March at 2.5 SPG and averaging 2.5 steals with 4.8 deflections over the past month amid Detroit's strong 59-22 finish. Challengers like Cason Wallace (1.9 SPG) face insurmountable gaps, though improbable official stat revisions or disputes could theoretically shift resolution.
