Mercedes' superior adaptation to 2026 regulations has propelled George Russell and Kimi Antonelli to the top of trader consensus for the Drivers' Championship, with the duo securing 1-2 finishes in the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix—Russell winning Australia and the Chinese sprint, Antonelli taking China—before strong Japanese GP showings that elevated Antonelli to the standings lead at 72 points over Russell's 63. Their consistent podiums, poles, and energy management edge reflect the W17's race pace and qualifying dominance amid Red Bull's midfield struggles dropping Max Verstappen out of contention. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc trails at 49 points, underscoring Mercedes' early constructor lead and the teammates' tight intra-team battle as key probability drivers.
