The 2026 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled for April 12, stands cancelled due to escalating Middle East security concerns from the Iran conflict, as announced March 14, prompting Polymarket's head-to-head driver matchups—including Leclerc vs. Verstappen, Norris vs. Piastri, and Russell vs. Antonelli—to trade near even money at roughly 50% implied probabilities across all 23 pairs. This reflects trader consensus on the market's 50-50 resolution rule for permanent cancellation, overriding pre-season Bahrain testing where Ferrari's Leclerc topped timesheets ahead of McLaren's Norris and Mercedes duo Antonelli-Russell. Mercedes' early-season constructors lead (Antonelli atop drivers' standings with 72 points) becomes moot amid the five-week hiatus until Miami GP sprint weekend May 1-3, with no rescheduling likely due to logistics and calendar constraints.

If Leclerc finishes ahead of Piastri, this market will resolve to "Leclerc".
If Piastri finishes ahead of Leclerc, this market will resolve to "Piastri".
In the case of a tie between two drivers, this market will resolve 50-50.
If the Bahrain Grand Prix is postponed this market will remain open until the vent has been completed. If the Bahrain Grand Prix is permanently canceled this market will resolve 50-50.
If either driver fails to finish the race (including DNF, DSQ, or any other non-finish), the driver who completes more laps will be considered to have finished ahead. If both drivers complete the same number of laps, this market will resolve 50-50, regardless of the order in which they retired. This rule applies even if one or both drivers are unclassified in the FIA “Final Classification.”
This market will resolve based on the "Final Classification" published by the FIA following the conclusion of the race. The "Final Classification" is typically released 30-60 minutes after the race ends and includes any applied time penalties and official adjustments.
Disqualifications or changes made after the publication of the "Final Classification" will not affect market resolution. The timing of the podium ceremony does not determine the result for this market — only the FIA's published classification will be used to resolve this market.
