Mercedes' dominant start to the 2026 F1 season has propelled teammates George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli to the top of trader consensus for the Drivers' Championship, with Russell at 43.5% implied probability despite trailing Antonelli's 72-63 points lead after three Grands Prix. Antonelli seized the standings lead with victory at the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend, surging from pole ahead of Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc, while Russell finished fourth amid frustrations over strategy and pace. Pre-season expectations of Mercedes superiority positioned the experienced Russell as favorite, but Antonelli's rapid adaptation has narrowed the market gap, with Ferrari's Leclerc (49 points) and Hamilton lagging amid weaker pace, and Red Bull/McLaren struggling for consistent podiums.
