World No. 1 Sun Yingsha holds a narrow 52% implied probability edge over Dina Meshref in their ITTF World Cup Macao 2026 women's singles group stage matchup, capturing trader caution amid Sun's recovery from an early-2026 ankle injury that sidelined her for eight weeks. Fresh off defending her Singapore Smash title and a commanding 3-0 group win over Li Yu-Jhun on March 30, Sun leads 1-0 head-to-head after a 3-1 Olympic team singles victory in 2024, where Meshref nabbed a game with left-handed spin. Meshref's continental dominance and stylistic edge create upset potential in the round-robin format, but her recent R64 Singapore Smash loss to Hana Goda highlights vulnerabilities; odds may firm for Sun on sustained fitness or swing toward Meshref on any mobility lapse.
