In the ITTF World Cup Macao 2026 group stage, World No. 10 Mima Ito holds a slim 51% implied probability edge over No. 41 Elizabeta Samara in their pivotal Group 8 matchup, reflecting trader consensus on Ito's superior ranking and recent 3-2 grind over Canada's Mo Zhang on March 30 that secured her advancement position. The contest remains tightly balanced due to Samara's veteran left-hand shakehand style, her prior upset of Ito in a five-game thriller, and Ito's vulnerability exposed in dropping three games to Zhang amid choppy form earlier in 2026. A sharp Ito offensive surge could widen her lead, while Samara's defensive resilience or Ito errors might flip sentiment toward the Romanian's upset potential.
