Defending ITTF World Cup champion Hugo Calderano's world No. 3 ranking, sharp form from a dominant 3-0 group stage opener over Lubomir Jancarik on March 31, and historical edge in high-stakes matchups propelled trader consensus to 100% implied probability for his men's singles win over Kristian Karlsson at Macao 2026. The Brazilian topped the group with a gritty 3-2 comeback (11-13, 11-5, 11-1, 4-11, 11-9) victory earlier today, advancing to the Round of 16 main draw. Karlsson's lower seeding and inconsistent recent results against top seeds left little room for upset potential, though rare momentum shifts or unreported fitness issues could theoretically alter outcomes in table tennis deciders.
