Norway enters the opening match of the T20 Portugal Tri-Series as slight trader favorites against France at Santarem Cricket Ground, buoyed by a 22-run victory over them in the Viking Cup last August (138/5 vs 116/7), their most recent head-to-head. Norway arrives in strong recent T20I form, winning their home Tri-Nation Series in August 2025 with a three-wicket chase against Sweden and a 32-run defense over Hungary. France struggled in that Viking Cup loss, highlighting batting vulnerabilities. The balanced pitch favors batsmen early (average first innings 160), with seamers benefiting from bounce; toss and top-order firepower will prove pivotal in this evenly matched associate nations clash for early momentum.
