Marco Trungelliti, ranked No. 116 with extensive clay court experience as a 36-year-old Argentine veteran, holds the edge over 19-year-old Japanese riser Rei Sakamoto (No. 164) in this Grand Prix Hassan II qualifying second-round clash on clay in Marrakech. Trungelliti advanced past Hynek Barton in Q1 yesterday, leveraging his career clay record exceeding 60% wins, while Sakamoto outlasted local Amine Jamji in his debut Q1 win. Sakamoto's momentum stems from his maiden ATP Tour victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic at Miami last week before falling to Daniil Medvedev, though on hard courts where his 6-4 frame aids serving. No head-to-head history exists; traders weigh Trungelliti's surface mastery and ranking against Sakamoto's upside in best-of-three sets, with mild weather unlikely to intervene.
