Third-seeded Corentin Moutet, ranked No. 32 with strong clay-court credentials, enters rested on a first-round bye, facing wildcard Taha Baadi in the Grand Prix Hassan II round of 32 on outdoor clay in Marrakech. Baadi, ranked No. 587, earned his spot with a stunning 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 upset over higher-ranked Aleksandar Vukic in the opener—his first ATP-level win and the first for a Moroccan man in eight years—boosting momentum amid home-crowd support. No prior head-to-head exists, but Moutet's experience and variety contrast Baadi's breakthrough form; traders weigh the vast ranking gap against Baadi's altitude-clay resilience and crowd factor, with no reported injuries. Potential next foe: winner of Bennani-Hanfmann.
