Detroit Tigers travel to Target Field for a key early-season AL Central series against the Minnesota Twins starting April 6, with both teams mired at 2-4 records, trailing Cleveland (4-3) and Kansas City (3-3) in the standings. Recent Tigers setbacks include a 1-0 shutout loss at Arizona on April 1 and Trey Sweeney's placement on the 10-day injured list with a shoulder issue, thinning infield depth, while Twins third baseman Royce Lewis remains sidelined weeks from return due to shoulder soreness. Probable opener pits Tigers' Casey Mize (1.50 ERA in limited action) against Twins' Joe Ryan (0.00 ERA early), spotlighting pitching matchups amid Minnesota's home advantage and potential cool April weather; trader consensus reflects a competitive divisional clash where bullpen health and early momentum could sway outcomes.
