Sri Lanka's implied 64.5% probability to win the ODI series against Afghanistan reflects trader consensus on their superior head-to-head record, including a 3-0 whitewash during Afghanistan's tour in 2023/24, and deeper batting lineup with players like Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka providing stability. Afghanistan's spin attack led by Rashid Khan, who returns in the announced squad under Hashmatullah Shahidi, poses an upset threat on UAE's spin-friendly pitches in Dubai and Sharjah, but Sri Lanka's experience in subcontinental conditions and recent bilateral dominance justify the favoritism. The series, originally set for March 20-25, was postponed indefinitely due to West Asia conflict on March 11, with rescheduling eyed for late 2026 amid full-strength squads and no major injury concerns.
