The Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka T20 series, originally scheduled for three matches in Sharjah Cricket Stadium from March 13-17, was postponed indefinitely on March 11 due to escalating Middle East tensions disrupting regional flights and logistics, shifting focus to a potential reschedule later in 2026. Afghanistan entered with new T20I captain Ibrahim Zadran after Rashid Khan was dropped from the squad amid leadership changes, while Sri Lanka aimed to rebound from their ICC Men's T20 World Cup group-stage exit. Sharjah's batting-friendly pitch conditions and toss advantage would have favored aggressive T20 play, but trader consensus now hinges on geopolitical stability and ACB-SLC negotiations for new dates, with no confirmed injuries or roster updates altering the outlook.
