Alexander Shevchenko, ranked No. 84 with a 4-5 record this season, holds a significant edge over No. 658 Radu David Turcanu in their first-round ATP Bucharest Open clash on clay, reflecting trader consensus on Shevchenko's experience against the 20-year-old Romanian wildcard's home crowd boost. Shevchenko's recent form includes mixed Challenger-level results, while Turcanu advances via qualifiers, showing promise on ITF circuits but lacking ATP wins. No head-to-head exists; key factors include Shevchenko's baseline consistency on clay versus Turcanu's aggression and crowd support in Bucharest. Mild March weather around 11°C poses no delays, with no reported injuries from official updates. Upset potential lingers if Turcanu exploits early nerves.
