Shohei Ohtani holds a slim edge in trader consensus for the 2026 NL Hank Aaron Award after his historic 2024 campaign leading MLB in home runs (54), RBI (130), OBP, SLG, OPS and total bases, but pitching duties resume in the Dodgers' 2025 rotation, raising dual-role workload concerns for his plate production. The race stays tight with Ronald Acuña Jr.'s anticipated full recovery from a 2024 ACL tear positioning the 2023 NL MVP for a rebound, Fernando Tatis Jr.'s strong post-PED suspension slash line (.282/.366/.518, 21 HR), and Bryce Harper's consistent power (30 HR). Mookie Betts' resilience despite a broken hand and Juan Soto's blockbuster Mets signing for lineup protection further crowd the top tier, reflecting uncertainty in health, matchups and park factors ahead of spring training.
