SOFR has fluctuated narrowly between 3.57% and 3.72% through April 16, 2026—peaking on April 15 before easing to 3.67%—closely tracking the Federal Reserve's unchanged 3.5%-3.75% federal funds target range affirmed at the March FOMC meeting amid cooling inflation and resilient labor markets. The 30-day average SOFR dipped to 3.641% as of April 17, reflecting ample repo market liquidity and minimal funding stress. With resolution looming by April 30, traders monitor weekly jobless claims (April 23), flash PMIs, and the pivotal April 28-29 FOMC for dot plot updates on the policy path, as any shift in rate cut expectations could spur late-month volatility near key thresholds.
