Trader consensus positions Caroline Elliott as the frontrunner in the Conservative Party of British Columbia leadership election, buoyed by March Mainstreet Research polling showing her narrow edge over Peter Milobar among party members, amid a two-horse dynamic. Milobar holds strong with eight MLA endorsements—the most in the field—as the sole sitting MLA (Kamloops-Centre) and a recent April poll highlighting his electability against the NDP. Iain Black has surged via debate participation, as frontrunners Elliott and Milobar skipped the early April unsanctioned event, plus endorsements from former federal cabinet minister James Moore and others. Membership cutoff falls today (April 18), with voting May 9–30 determining the successor to interim leader Trevor Halford.
