The tight clustering of implied probabilities near 45-47% for Marcel Sabitzer, Antonee Robinson, Martin Ødegaard and several other playmakers reflects the wide-open nature of the assists leader market heading into the FIFA World Cup. Multiple creative midfielders and wingers from qualified nations enter with comparable recent club form, international experience and projected minutes in chance-creation roles. Squad selections, tactical emphasis on width or central progression, and team progression depth remain key variables that historically determine final assist tallies. With no major pre-tournament injuries or roster shifts yet dominating headlines, the wisdom of crowds keeps the field bunched until group-stage matches begin clarifying which creators will see the most service.

If multiple leaders are announced then this market will resolve to the player who completed more passes during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If the 2026 FIFA World Cup competition is cancelled, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no official leader declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
