Pirates maintain even form despite INF Jared Triolo's ongoing 10-day IL stint for a right knee patellar tendon injury (expected return late May) and SP Jared Jones' extended elbow absence, relying on rotation anchors like Paul Skenes and Mitch Keller. Giants grapple with depleted bullpen and outfield, including RP Joel Peguero's Grade 2 hamstring strain (target return May) and multiple pitchers on IL such as José Buttó (arm fatigue). Probable starters for May 9 remain unannounced; recent head-to-head splits even, with Pirates' road travel and Giants' early-season struggles shaping trader consensus.
