Mike Evans joined the San Francisco 49ers in free agency ahead of the 2026 season after 12 years with the Buccaneers and has posted two receiving touchdowns through four games while leading or sharing the team lead in targets and receiving yards in multiple contests. The 33-year-old veteran has played through a rib strain or fracture that sidelined him briefly in Week 3, maintaining high snap counts and red-zone involvement in an efficient offense featuring Brock Purdy. His contested-catch ability and route-running have translated immediately, though durability concerns from prior collarbone and hamstring issues persist alongside a Week 5 road matchup against a Seahawks secondary that has limited opposing passing attacks. Continued target share and goal-line opportunities in a high-powered unit remain the primary drivers of his season-long touchdown outlook.
