In the ATP Challenger Busan on hard courts, Canadian Alexis Galarneau (world No. 203) entered his round-of-32 clash against Japan's Kaichi Uchida (No. 238) as the higher-ranked player with steadier recent Challenger form, including competitive showings in prior hard-court events. Their head-to-head stood at 1-1, with Uchida's prior 2021 win on hard in Puerto Vallarta adding upset potential despite Galarneau's five-year age edge (27-31) and baseline power suiting the medium-paced surface. No injuries or withdrawals were reported pre-match, leaving trader consensus focused on Galarneau's ranking advantage and momentum versus Uchida's experience and regional familiarity, amid a field featuring seeds like Adam Walton.
