Trader consensus tilts slightly toward Ekaterine Gorgodze at 53.5% implied probability in this Credit One Charleston Open qualifying matchup on green clay, reflecting Donna Vekic's ongoing form slump—snapping a five-match losing streak recently but posting a 6-7 YTD record amid emotional struggles like a tearful loss in Mexico last month—against Gorgodze's steadier clay-court presence, including competitive three-setters in recent Antalya WTA events where she pushed higher-ranked Anhelina Kalinina. Vekic holds a superior No. 117 ranking to Gorgodze's No. 166 with no prior head-to-head, but her hardcourt preference and rust on slower surfaces create balance. Late injury updates, practice court sharpness, or weather delays could shift odds, as could Gorgodze's veteran experience at age 34 proving decisive in a potential upset scenario.
