Gonzalo Villanueva enters as the trader consensus favorite against compatriot Valerio Aboian in the ATP Challenger Sao Leopoldo clay-court first round, buoyed by his higher ranking (366 vs. 464), eight years of experience, and a 2-2 head-to-head record including a straight-sets qualifier win over Aboian last October. Both Argentines thrive on the slower surface with strong baseline games—Villanueva's right-handed consistency versus Aboian's lefty power—but Villanueva boasts better recent Challenger form, reaching second rounds in qualifiers amid no reported injuries. Mild weather aids play; key watch is early breaks in long rallies, with no withdrawals noted.
