Juan Pablo Ficovich, seeded fourth and ranked around No. 208, holds a commanding 2-0 head-to-head edge over Mateus Alves (No. 514), including a decisive 6-3, 6-1 first-round win in the Morelia Challenger just five days ago on hard courts. This ATP Challenger clash on San Luis Potosi's red clay—starting March 30—favors the Argentine Ficovich's baseline grinding style, bolstered by his quarterfinal run in Morelia before a loss to Borna Gojo. Alves, entering as a lower-ranked Brazilian qualifier beater, faces fatigue from the quick turnaround and stylistic matchup disadvantages, though clay familiarity offers upset potential if Ficovich's serve falters. No injury concerns reported; weather could influence play.
