In the San Luis Potosi Challenger first-round clay-court matchup, No. 302 Beibit Zhukayev enters as the higher-ranked contender against No. 499 Robin Catry, their first head-to-head encounter, with trader consensus likely reflecting Zhukayev's greater experience and career-high No. 171 peak. Both players acclimated to Mexican conditions after early exits last week in the Morelia Challenger—Catry falling to Tristan Schoolkate and Zhukayev losing in the round of 32 to Quinn Vandecasteele—highlighting inconsistent recent form amid a 3-7 stretch for Zhukayev over his last 10 Challenger/ITF matches, mostly on hard. Clay surface history favors neither strongly, with Zhukayev at 5-10 in the past year; no injuries reported, though altitude and outdoor conditions could influence play.
