Tristan Schoolkate enters as the clear trader consensus favorite over qualifier Alafia Ayeni in the San Luis Potosi Challenger first-round clay-court matchup, driven by his No. 119 ranking versus Ayeni's No. 499, a prior 7-6(2), 6-4 head-to-head win on hard in 2023 Bloomfield Hills qualies, and career clay record of 24-24 despite 0-0 this year. Ayeni's recent qualifying surge—6-1, 6-0 over Alfonso Cossio Gonzalez on March 29 and 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 versus Guillaume Dalmasso on March 30—provides momentum but risks fatigue after back-to-back matches. Schoolkate's 9-10 YTD form includes a Morelia Challenger quarterfinal loss last week; both players' limited 2026 clay exposure adds upset potential amid outdoor conditions.
