Rising component costs, particularly for memory and storage amid industry-wide shortages, have driven Polymarket traders to price a 74.5% implied probability on Valve's Steam Machine launching at $700 or more, reflecting consensus on premium pricing for its desktop-class AMD CPU/GPU specs enabling 4K gaming at 60 FPS—over six times Steam Deck's power. Valve's March FAQ update confirmed a pricing review and delayed MSRP announcement since the November 2025 reveal, with disputed leaks like a $950 Czech retailer listing for the 512GB base model amplifying upward pressure. While competitive dynamics from the $550 PS5 could prompt subsidies, historical PC hardware trends support the trader sentiment. Watch for official pricing ahead of the H1 2026 release window.
