Erosa returns from a 10-month layoff after breaking his orbital in a controversial decision loss to Melquizael Costa last May, fighting just 20 minutes from his Yakima, Washington home for added motivation. Douglas, 13-5 on a five-fight finish streak highlighted by a 36-second Contender Series knockout, makes his UFC debut as a national wrestling champion and BJJ black belt trained under Cub Swanson, bringing explosive knockout power. Both fighters made weight cleanly at yesterday's weigh-ins with no reported injuries, setting up a stylistic clash of Douglas' early aggression against Erosa's durability and opportunism.
