Silver spot prices settled at $74.64 per troy ounce on April 1, 2026, down 0.53% daily amid a 16% monthly pullback from February highs near $91, reflecting profit-taking after 2025's 130% rally driven by industrial demand surges in solar photovoltaics and electronics. Persistent supply deficits—forecast at 67 million ounces for 2026 by the Silver Institute—bolster trader sentiment, tempered by a stronger U.S. dollar and fading safe-haven flows as inflation cools. June 2026 futures trade around $71, signaling market-implied odds of modest consolidation by quarter-end. Key catalysts include April nonfarm payrolls on May 3, the FOMC meeting May 6-7, and China's PMI data shaping green energy demand.

For CME Silver (SI) futures contracts, the Active Month is the nearest of CME's designated delivery-cycle months (March, May, July, September, December) that is not the spot month. The Active Month becomes a non-active month effective on its First Position Date, at which point the next eligible contract month becomes the Active Month.
Only the Active Month's official settlement price published by CME Group will be considered. Intraday trades, highs, lows, bids, offers, midpoint values, or indicative prices do not count.
Note that the settlement price may differ from the last traded price. CME's methodology to determine the settlement price can vary by commodity and contract.
Only days during June on which CME publishes an official settlement price for the Active Month will be included. Days without settlement prices (weekends, holidays, or market closures) are ignored.
This market will resolve based on the settlement price as it appears on the CME settlement page at the time it is first published for that trading day, regardless of any later corrections or updates.
The resolution source for this market is the CME Group website — specifically, the daily "Settlement" price for the Active Month of Silver (SI) futures.
