South Africa Women grabbed a 1-0 series lead with a thrilling 2-wicket victory in the 1st ODI at Hagley Oval, chasing 269 via Annerie Dercksen's 72, Sune Luus's 53, and debutant Kayla Reyneke's unbeaten 42 featuring a last-ball six, despite Ayabonga Khaka's 6/56 restricting New Zealand to 268. Trader consensus still prices New Zealand Women at 55% implied probability to win the 3-match ODI series, buoyed by their dominant 4-1 T20I series triumph, home advantage across remaining fixtures at Basin Reserve, and South Africa's key absence of allrounder Dane van Niekerk (calf injury). White Ferns' depth shines through Maddy Green's 85 and Kerr sisters' spin-seam threat, in a closely contested matchup where historical head-to-head edges favor the hosts.
