The three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, originally slated for Sharjah Cricket Stadium starting March 13, was indefinitely postponed on March 11 due to logistical disruptions from escalating Middle East tensions, including flight cancellations amid the Iran conflict; it's tentatively rescheduled for late 2026. Afghanistan named Ibrahim Zadran as their new T20I captain ahead of the tour, succeeding Rashid Khan—who remains in the squad alongside spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad—while veterans Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai provide batting depth. Sri Lanka hold a strong head-to-head edge in recent T20Is, winning 3-0 on home soil in 2024, but UAE pitches favoring spin could level the contest if the toss and conditions play out for Afghanistan's bowling attack. Traders should watch for ACB and SLC updates on the new window, as further delays loom.
